The Balbriggan side welcomed back regular keeper David Healy for the first time this season, but he was beaten on the quarterhour following a corner kick. The visitors came close to an equaliser after that when Ryan McMahon shot just wide of the post before the home side doubled their lead on the half-hour. A Trinity player rounded Healy before shooting into the empty net despite the best efforts of a tracking Hyde Park defender. Hyde Park went with five across the middle after the break, with Jason O'Neill and Danny Baxter brought into the centre and Anthony Daly moved up front. And it certainly had the desired effect, with Hyde the dominant team after the restart. However, it was to prove a frustrating period for Hyde Park, with the Trinity keeper on hand to deny Richie Collins, Daly and the in-form Joey Doherty, while Robert Halligan hit the post with eight minutes to go. HYDE PARK: David Healy, Ger Sweetman, Paul Kelly, Robert Halligan, Dominic Buckley, Ritchie Baxter, Richie Collins, Anto Daly, Darren Sweetman, Joe Doherty, Ryan McMahon. Subs: Jason O'Neill, Danny Baxter.
