Clinical Chuks throws down the gauntlet to never-say-die Lusk

Published 18/09/2012 | 16:48

LUSK Utd travelled to Malahide Castle to play Kinsealy Boys in the cup and it was the visitors who made the brighter start, hitting the bar and having another effort cleared off the line in the opening minutes.

However, Kinsealy managed to take the lead against the run of play in the fifth minute, when striker Alex Chuks broke through the Lusk defence to slot the ball home. Lusk battled on, pinning their hosts back for long periods and they were rewarded five minutes from half time with a fine strike to level matters at the break. Lusk again started the half the better and within minutes of the restart scored their second. Kinsealy had to make changes to their midfield and it paid off with the ball again breaking to Chuks who made no mistake from close range. The game turned into a real midfield battle, with both sides fighting hard for every inch before and Adam Brant clearance that man Chuks again, who fired home his third goal. After all their hard work and stylish play Lusk were clearly shaken, but still pressed forward taking the game to Kinsealy. But time was running out and in the last five minutes, sub Ben Moran netted two goals to make it 5-2. Kinsealy Boys would like to thank their sponsors Garage Express for all their support this season.
