Caulfield's a saviour for Swords

AN 85th-minute strike from Barry Caulfield salvaged a point for Larry Clare's titlechasing Swords Celtic on Sunday. Caulfield had sent the initial cross in, and as the keeper and Paul Shiels scrapped for possession, Caulfield was on hand to scramble the ball over the line.
Swords had played most of the game without Mark Gibson who had been dismissed for two yellow cards in the first half, and with Robbie Farrell serving out the second of a two-game suspension the away side struggled for chances. Nonetheless, having restored parity, they had a chance to claim a late winner when Anto White broke free inside the box, only to scuff his chance. This was Celtic's second draw since the winter break, having boasted a 100% record before Christmas, but they are just six points off league leaders Dublin University and with three games in hand are still on course for promotion. SWORDS CELTIC: Brat Turker, Bernard Smith, Niall Kinsella (Alex Ryan), Ben McQuillan, Adam Hanley, Shane Byrne (Anthony White), Mark Gibson, Paul Shiels, Philly Nolan (Stephen O'Reilly), Barry Caulfield, Jason Smith.
