Opportune time to remember those lost to the sport they loved

CHRISTMAS is that time of the year when families and friends get together to spend some valuable time, and have the craic which goes with the festive season.

Unfortunately there are families who will not be having the fun that the rest of us will be having, and I would ask you all to remember them when you sit down to your Christmas dinner, as there will be vacant chairs in their homes. Remember Mark Buckley, Lee Vernon and Trevor Ferguson, who all paid a terrible price for the sport that they loved during 2012, and also the family of the late David Murtagh, former chairman of the Loughshinny club, who passed away in October, and all the families who have lost friends and loved ones during the year.
