Michael Lester of The Sunday Game fame, and also a former rally competitor, was the MC on the night, and a very entertaining evening was had by the guests.

The Young Sport Star of the Year award went to Anne-Marie Torsney from Swords, who took home three medals from the European Championships in taekwondo, and to cap the year she also won medals in various aspects of athletics, including the discus, hammer and javelin.

The main award went to Paralympian Catherine Walsh, who took home two medals from London in cycling and she was a worthy winner as well. Liam Kelly was added to the Hall of Fame, and the Rush man, who manages Glebe North, was delighted to be added to the illustrious list of past recipients.
