Dagg ever-present in allconquering Delta team

CANADA-BASED Malahide native Shane Dagg added another string to his bow when playing a leading role in South Delta High School's British Columbia Senior Final triumph the weekend before last.

Dagg won the Gold Medal after starring in the wing position in the decider as South Delta overcame defending provincial champions Mission High School 31-14 to lift the Subway Championship Cup in Vancouver. South Delta have had their best season ever, winning all 12 of their games, and Shane has been an ever-present in the team for all the fixtures. One of the outstanding South Delta results was their 27-12 win in the semi-final against Nanaimo High School which saw Shane making a successful 87-yard run and score. His success in Canadian Football has proved very beneficial in complementing his progress in the Canadian Under-18 Rugby Academy. Shane has won three Gold Medals In Canada in the past 15 months, having previously earned one as part of the British Columbia Under-17 team who won the Las Vegas International Youths tournament, and one with the successful Under-16 Canadian National Rugby Championship team.
