ATHLETICS -- all the news

Lusk -- Twenty Lusk athletes braved the wet and windy weather to compete in the third round of the Dublin Cross-Country League competition last Sunday.

Despite the conditions the Lusk athletes showed their true grit. Aiveen Byrne and Aisling Tcheutchoua were our youngest athletes in the U9 race. Tamsin Bates, Laoise McNally, Megan Clarke and Katie Halpin put in a great team effort at U10s. The boys U10 saw Killian Skelly and Kyle Nangle finish excellently. Conor Gleeson, Eabha McNally, Hannah Ryan and Grace Codd ran in highly competitive U11 races.

Nelda Tcheutchoua was our only runner at U12, as was Adam McNally at U13. Dylan Cody-Foy and Tara Gleeson ran excellently in the U14 races, the threeman team of Darren Ryan, Tadhg Scott and David Barry continued their return to form and Aaron Brogan also continues to impress in his first season at U17. The last round of this League takes place next Sunday in the Phoenix Park at 11am. Good luck to all those who are travelling.
