THOUSANDS or runners, walkers and joggers took to the streets of Swords at the weekend to take part in the latest SSE Airtricity Dublin Race series.

A crowd of 3,000 walkers, took part in the 10k event which is only the third ever SSE Airtricity Dublin race series event held outside of the Phoenix Park.

The participants were roared on by large crowds that gathered along the route on Sunday morning.

This Fingal 10K run is the second race marked in this year's SSE Airtricity Dublin race series which kicked off on June 28th in the Phoenix Park with the Irish runner 5 mile race.

This race helps to fill the gap between the 5 mile and Frank Duffy 10 mile races which both take place in the Phoenix Park.

There are two more races in the 2014 SSE Airtricity Dublin race series including The Frank Duffy 10 mile (August 23rd) and the SSE Airtricity Dublin Half Marathon (September 20th) before the main SSE Airtricity Dublin marathon on October 27th.
