Towers stun the hot favourites
ROUND Towers stunned Plunkett's, one of the highly fancied teams to win this year's Junior A Championship, in a dramatic finish.
Plunkett's started off at an incredible pace and were dominant in all areas in the first twenty minutes racing into a 1-2 to no score lead.
Towers got on the scoreboard with points from Kieran McKittrick, one from a free after a fine run by Adam Caul.
And after Plunketts had responded at the other end, Ryan Caul then found the back of the net off a penetrating run from Chris Neville to leave half time score at 1-6 to 1-2 to the Cabra men.
But with Plunkett's in control Towers emptied the bench early in the second half and with ten minutes to go, Plunketts were still five ahead.
However, an inspirational score from John O Neill was to be the beginning of a remarkable turn around which saw Conor Brick (45') Kieran McKittrick, Ciaran Murphy and Ryan Caul all land scores to level the game.
And then in injury a brilliant turnover from Sam Griffin saw Lusk break up field with Brick flicking on the ball to Neville who duly punched over the advancing keeper.
Incredibly Towers had snatched victory with some tremendous scores, brilliant defending which saw Plunketts held scoreless for the last ten minutes.
