Ballyboughal avoid dreaded drop

Castleknock 2-13

Ballyboughal 2-13

A GERRY Seaver goal from the last kick of the game won Ballyboughal a valuable point in their bid to avoid the dreaded drop.

Castleknock featured Ciaran Kilkenny at centre forward but he was well marshalled by Eoin McPhilbin, and following an early goal from Lar Lynch, Ballyboughal remained competitive with James Rooney, Tony Rooney and McPhilbin all hitting scores.

Ballyboughal also missed a penalty and trailed by three points when Castleknock registered their second goal with five minutes to go.

However, in the last move of the game Cathal Flynn played in a long ball to McPhilbin who flicked the ball on for Seaver - who kicked 1-7 - to slot past the keeper.
