Ballinteer St Johns 1-19
Naomh Mearnog 1-12
IN a repeat of the 2011 Division 2 final, Ballinteer produced a strong second-half display to add to Mearnog's relegation worries.
Mearnóg, still without influential utility player Davy Byrne performed well in the first half with Aidan Kenny (0-9 on the day) sending over a succession of frees.
And while unable to convert a number of goal chances, a strike from Gary De Loughrey after the goalkeeper had fumbled, saw Mearnog just a point behind at the break.
But with Keith Nolan and Michael Meagher tightening up at the back after the interval, Ballinteer pulled away with a string of scores from James and Jack Gilligan.
