SVDP Cup final
Ballymun Kickhams 1-16
St Sylvester's 0-12
AN early Derek Byrne goal sent Ballymun Kickhams on their way to their first trophy of the season in Saturday's decider played at Broomfield.
It was a low key affair with which saw Syls manager start with an experimental half forward line which included Alan Foy and Ken Sweeney.
Syls were on the back foot when a Byrne cut in from the left to finish into the bottom corner on five minutes.
Paul Curran's men moved the gap out after that with Ted Furman impressing at full forward.
By half time, Syls had cut the gap back to three with Nigel Dunne sending over a number of frees but the visitors were never troubled to any great extent after the break with Kevin Leahy, Alan Hubbard and Furman all landing points.
