Mearnog on the up and up

GERRY Harrington's men are moving nicely up the table as they host Donabate in what may well define both teams season in Torcail on Wednesday week.

Having overcome Pat's Palmerstown on Wednesday, they were handed a timely boost by the inclusion of Dublin panellist, Shane Carthy for this weekend fixture in Drumnigh.

And the Portmarnock CS student's place kicking proved crucial on the night as he kicked seven points.

Certainly it was nip and tuck between these two Dublin 13 outfits as they went in at half time locked on seven points each.

But with Francis McGowan dominant in midfield, Mearnóg were to pull away in the last twenty minutes with Carthy sending over three frees with Jamie Walsh, David White, Colm Fahy and Sean Kenny also registering scores on the night.
