NAOMH Mearnog remain in contention for promotion after a 0-15 to 0-10 win away against St Peregrines in Blakestown on Sunday.

Mearnog led 0-6 to 0-3 at the break, with Dublin's Shane Carthy leading the scoring with three points.

The moving of Carthy into midfield for a brief time also reaped dividends, with Niall Murphy popping up with two good scores at full forward.

With Frank Doyle having a good game on the forty, Mearnog began the second half with three unanswered points from Murphy (2) and Jamie Storey, and from there the Portmarnock outfit were never really troubled.

NAOMH MEARNOG: Niall Murphy 0-7, Shane Carthy 0-3, Jordan Briggs, Jamie Storey 0-2 each, Francis McGowan 0-1.
