HAVE YOU ever wished you could organise your wedding without the hassle of travelling all around Ireland looking for the best wedding suppliers? Imagine having them all on your own doorstep? A unique wedding showcase to take place in Skerries on Sunday, November 11th will give lucky local brides and grooms the opportunity to meet the best the North County Dublin area has to offer in wedding suppliers, each a leader in their field.Brides will be spoilt for choice with the exhibitors which include a bridal boutique, floral designer, wedding car company, wedding videographer and even entertainment for your guests among many others, all, for one day only, conveniently located under one roof at DesignWorks Photography Studio, 26 Church Street in Skerries. This is the third year the showcase is being held in Skerries, which is fast becoming the place to plan your wedding with so many award-winning wedding professionals hailing from the town and its surrounds. Last year's showcase was deemed a great success by exhibitors and brides alike, despite the fact that it shared the day with the All-Ireland Senior Football final which was screened at the event much to the delight of many grooms and exhibitors! With demonstrations from the wedding experts including free hot towel shaves for the gentlemen and makeup demos for the girls, a great competition and many exclusive offers on the day, every engaged couple will walk away armed with lots of information and maybe some of their wedding taken care of! This year's event has an amazing line-up with a couple literally able to book their entire wedding on the day, from ceremony to reception including hotel, cars, stationery, bridal and groomswear, entertainment and photography among the wide range of suppliers exhibiting. Attendees will once again receive a free booklet written by the wedding experts, filled with insider's advice on every aspect of planning your wedding. The showcase was the brainchild of Skerries photographer Denise Cannon, who wanted to bring together quality, local wedding suppliers to provide good value for her clients. She saw the value in local businesses supporting each other through this difficult economic period. By pooling their resources and sharing marketing costs they hope to create a greater impact than they ever could alone. 'Many brides and grooms I speak with are working to a much tighter budget than ever before and are looking for better value for their money,'' says Denise. '' Weddings are expensive to plan so people are shopping around more and want to take their time choosing how they spend their money. A boutique showcase such as ours is ideal for them as they will have the time to really get to know the person they are potentially hiring for what is possibly the most important day of their lives.' The average couple getting married in Ireland today will spend €20,000-€30,000 on their wedding. In this economy the theme of 'shop local' has never been more relevant, especially when people are considering spending such large sums. As one bride put it to Denise, 'if we are going to spend so much, at least our money is going to promote the local economy and keeping local people in jobs'. The Wedding Showcase will take place from 12pm-6pm on Sunday, November 11th at the DesignWorks Photography Studio, 26 Church Street in Skerries. For more information please call 8021100.
