Threatened to burn down Wright Venue

A MAN who threatened to burn down a Swords nightclub on New Year's Eve had his case adjourned for a probation report at Swords District Court last week.

He also became abusive to gardaí when he was arrested. Alen Adamovic of Fortlawn Park in Blanchardstown pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour at Wright's Venue on the Malahide Road in Swords on January 1, 2012.

His solicitor told the court a probation report was due before the court last Monday but because of an incident in which 25-year-old Adamovic was shot in the leg in Blanchardstown on July 22, he had made himself scarce and did not attend the probation services.

'He was given an opportunity and he is anxious to get the probation report completed and someone is now in custody for the incident which has eased the situation,' his solicitor said. Judge Dermot Dempsey said he would give Adamovic ' one further opportunity' and adjourned the case for a probation report on October 22.
