A GREAT day of golf was had at Balcarrick Golf Club as the captains teed off for the club's Annual Captains' Drive-In.

Originally supposed to happen in mid-February, the event was postponed due to inclement weather conditions until Saturday, March 1 – when the sun managed to come out for the day.

'It was a fabulous day and the weather was perfect,' said Ladies Captain Ann Dynes.

Prior to the Drive-In at the Corballis-based club, the incoming captains made a few speeches and the changing of the blazers took place with finger food being served.

The Men's Captain Richie Walsh, along with his Vice Captain Christy O'Driscoll; Ladies Captain Ann Dynes and her Vice Captain Maureen Manning and Junior Captain Eoin Manning lined up at the third hole for the tee-off, and received a round of applause from club members and friends.

Later in the evening, all the captains, vice captains and club members sat down to enjoy a meal.
