ONE LUCKY Portmarnock boy received a very special delivery last week from none other than Republic of Ireland soccer stars Stephen Ward, Shane Long and Andy Keogh.
Adam Grouse was one of the lucky Republic of Ireland fans to receive the new jersey before it was worn for the first time at the World Cup qualifying clash with Germany last Friday night.
To ensure the soccer fan had his jersey in time for the big match, team sponsor Three enlisted the help of Ward, Long and Keogh to personally deliver it to the youngster's home. Aside from meeting Adam and his family – parents, Greta and Damien, and sisters Sarah, Sophie and Lauren – the soccer players also hung around long enough to meet some of the schoolboy's pals, creating much excitement in Portmarnock.
