FINGAL COUNTY Council was one of the organisations supporting a recent exhibition aimed at educating the business community and the public sector on 'greener' procurement.The 'Green Way' Procurement Showcase at Helix Theatre attracted over 100 organisations, with panel presentations from procurement specialists, elevator pitch presentations from 11 leading Irish Companies and facilities for delegates to meet with 25 procurement officers and specifiers. Panel presenter organisations included the Dublin Airport Authority, Dublin City University Fingal County Council, Dublin City Council, DIT and ESB. The event, which was run as part of Innovation Dublin was supported by SEAI, Enterprise Ireland and Fingal County Council. Speaking at the showcase event, Julie Sinammon Executive Director of Global Market at Enterprise Ireland said: ' The Green Way is demonstrating excellent leadership in this area, and today is a very practical way to introduce Irish companies to the key procurement teams in the partner organisations.' Tony Boyle, CEO of The Green Way said: 'We are delighted with the excellent commitment we have received from our principals, the agencies and most of all from industry who have turned out in great numbers. ' The annual procurement spend of the people here today is €2 billion and the real measure of success will be more of this spend going to innovative Irish companies to help stimulate our economy and create jobs in the area.'
