THE phenomenal rise of Malahide's Villagers continues, with the outfit having secured yet another coveted support slot. The Conor O'Brien-led project made their Oxegen debuts on Sunday and have fast become the most soughtafter act in Ireland.
Following on from opening for Bell X1 and Neil Young, Villagers toured Europe earlier this month as support to the great Tracy Chapman, taking in gigs in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland.
They've been pencilled in for Indie-Pendence over the August Bank Holiday weekend, as well as Electric Picnic, which takes place on September 4th, 5th and 6th at Stradbally Hall, County Laois.
Villagers released their debut EP 'Hollow Kind' in February.
