Keith's SUBWAY at Drogheda Street in Balbriggan now displays a nutritional information poster which includes information on fat and calories in line with the Irish Food Safety Authority of Ireland's guidelines. The SUBWAY brand is the first brand in Ireland to achieve this standard and has already been applauded by the Minister for Health for leading the way on calorie labelling. 'We are committed to offering customers a full range of great tasting products and to helping them make informed heart healthy choices,' said Keith. Customers visiting Keith's store can find calorie information displayed on menu panels while more detailed information is provided on in-store posters and on-line at www.subway.ie. 'Our customers come to SUBWAY® stores to eat freshly made, affordable and convenient sandwiches and salads and because they appreciate and enjoy that we make our Subs with locally supplied ingredients,' Keith added. The Low Fat Range subs are also low in saturated fats, containing less than 1.5g of saturated fat per Sub. All products have been free from partially hydrogenated vegetable fats and oils and therefore artificial trans fats since 2009. The SUBWAY system has also made significant progress in reducing the salt content across its products. In April 2010 it announced an average 33% reduction across its product range.
