THE TEXACO filling station on the Dublin Road in Skerries fell victim to a bizarre crime when a man entered the forecourt in the small hours of the morning and began slashing petrol hoses.

The man, believed to be in his early 20s, walked onto the forecourt of the filling station at 5.15 a. m. on Thursday, November 1, and began systematically cutting all of the station's pump hoses, oneby-one using a knife. He was wearing a green or brown jacket with tracksuit bottoms and black runners and a baseball hat and gloves. The crime has been captured on CCTV and local gardaí are now working to identify the vandal with the aid of the video footage. The filling station recovered quickly from the attack and had already restored some of the pumps to full use later that day. Anyone with information relating to this bizarre crime is asked to contact investigating gardaí at Skerries Garda Station.
