THE incredible voice of a Skerries teenager that impressed music mogul Louis Walsh last year, has now caught the ear of no less a man than the President of Ireland.President Michael D. Higgins was so impressed with the talents of 15-year-old Skerries soprano, Aebh Kelly that he recently made a personal request for her to sing at Aras an Uachtarain. The President asked Aebh to come along to the Phoenix Park and entertain at a garden party at his official residence in a day described by Aebh's proud parents as 'a real honour and a very special day for us'. Skerries invaded the Phoneix Park for the first day with Aebh accompanied by her family, singing coach Fiona Mullaney and her accompanist, Catriona Grimes. This singular honour follows on from late last year when young Aebh grabbed headlines for a performance in Drogheda that wowed one Louis Walsh. The local teenager stunned the audience at the TLT in Drogheda at the 2011 Coca- Cola School Stars Finals with her version of ' The Sound of Music' – much to the star judge's delight. 'How can someone so young be so good? You were effortless, note perfect and a professional at 14!' he told her. Such was Aebh's angelic performance, she claimed second spot in the competition.
