Need to remove tree is disputed

THE COUNCIL is disputing the need to remove a tree in Orlynn Park in Lusk where it is claimed the tree has damaged a wall.

Cllr. Ken Farrell (Lab), asked for the removal of a tree outside number 98, Orlynn Park and said that it was 'causing damage to the structural integrity of the wall at this address'. Cllr. Farrell said he had earlier assurances from the council that the tree would be removed. But the local authority argued: 'The tree is question was inspected. This tree is much smaller than many that have been removed in Orlynn Park over the last year. 'It is not immediately apparent that the tree is responsible for the cracking in the wall. There is no damage to the footpath between the tree and the wall.'
