GLITZ and glamour was the order of the evening at this year's 2012 Miss Fingal competition, which was held in Skerries recently. Some 10 girls from around the Fingal vied for the coveted crown at the great night at the Blue Bar, which was organised by Aoife Devlin from Balrothery. They were Emma Boylan, Nicola Murphy, Donna Hughes, Maria Luce, Geniele Squires, Meghan McAuley, Nicole Mc Quillan, Leslie O'Carroll, Tori Delahoyde and Jenna Murphy and they all impressed the judges. Hosts on the night were Kate Rafter and Robbie Armstrong and they did a great job, making the girls feel at home on the stage, as well as keeping the night smoothly moving. Each girl had to do four sections from interviews to modelling to bikini round. Skerries duo Grainne Kelly and Paddy McNally performed on the night and they received a great reception from the crowd. The night also featured a very successful bachelor auction which two local bachelors, Ross McAuley and Colin Doyle take part. After much deliberation, the winner of the 2012 Miss Fingal crown was Meghan McAuley, representing Miss Picturebooth.ie. Runner-up was Nicola Murphy, Miss Pro-fitness Gym. One of the most important parts of the night was that all the money raised was in aid of Focus Ireland, the charity that works to prevent people becoming, remaining and returning to homlessness. And the substantial figure of €2,500 was raised on the night.
