Man handed four-month jail term

JAKUB ZAJAC, (22), Grange Lodge Avenue, Clongriffin, Dublin 13 was sentenced to four months in prison in his absence as Judge Dermot Dempsey revoked an order for communitiy service at Balbriggan District Court last week (Thursday, October 4).

The court heard that Mr Zajac, who was not present in court, failed to comply with the court order to complete 100 hours of commiunity servie. He has only undertaken 28 hourse of work and there are still 72 hours outstanding. The defendant had been given the community service on conviction of driving without insurance or a valid NCT certificate at Rowan Little, Balbriggan on November 8, 2010.
