A POLISH man in his 20s is on life-support at Beaumont Hospital after falling ten feet through the first floor of disused old mill at ' The Jacko' in Swords.

Lucas Korbal (26), his brother and some friends were socialising in the Swords park last Saturday night (August 25) when the upper floor of the old mill gave way under the young man's feet and he fell to the ground floor, sustaining serious head injuries. The alarm was raised and Swords Gardaí and the local fire service attended the scene where Mr Korbal was already unconscious.

At the time of writing, Lucas Korbal was in the Richmond Intensive Care Unit of Beaumont Hospital in a 'critical but stable' condition but was still in a coma and attached to a life-support machine. It is understood that Mr Korbal's brother is the only family he has in Ireland. The two brothers work and live at Keelings Fruit Farm in St Margaret's. There will be no charges arising out of the incident which Swords Gardaí have described as a an 'unfortunate and tragic accident'. Gardaí have warned the public to stay away from the old dilapidated mill.
