OLDTOWN-based Keogh's Crisps has been named the winner of the Fingal Enterprise Award 2012, again highlighting the growing food industry in the Fingal region.

Set up less than a year ago in November 2011, Keoghs is now supplying throughout Ireland, as well as to New York based Dean and Deluca, which has stores worldwide from Manhattan to Singapore. Keoghs Crisps is also in discussions around potentially supplying to Canada, China, Japan, France, Germany and the UK. The company, which currently employs nine people, plans to recruit an additional six staff within the next 12 months. Speaking about the winners, Fingal County Enterprise CEO Oisin Geoghegan said: 'We are delighted to welcome the emergence of innovative companies like Keoghs Crisps, this year's winner of the Fingal Enterprise Award. ' This company is one to watch in the future, the concept is simple but clever. The family, well-known potato farmers, have branched out into adding value to their primary produce by manufacturing crisps. 'Very importantly, the company is led by a highly focused and experienced management team. This will prove to be a major boost to enable this company to continue to grow sales, particularly in export markets, in turn fueling much needed employment creation.'
