THE Fingal Folk Club held a country jamboree night featuring the wonderful talents of Kilkenny artist, JP Ryan.
JP brought his own brand of what can be described as county gospel music to the folk club featuring songs from his latest album 'Take a walk with me'.
J.P is a well-seasoned performer playing this acoustic set with guitar and mandola.
Some memorable songs in the performance were 'Great Devotion', and 'Love flows like a river', captivating the audience in his unique style. Telling us stories about 'Robbie Woods' and bringing a tear to the eye with 'Monty who was a sailor', JP delivered a memorable concert to this north county Dublin audience.
Embracing the audience of musicians and singers around him JP managed to captivate and have special participation and responses' in great harmony from his fellow musicians. Singing the title track of the new album it was a thrill to hear this performance of, 'Take a walk with me', which we all certainly did. A fantastic night of music and song and we look forward to JP making a return to visit in the near future. The folk club returns on Friday with an around the house session.
