Jobseekers information day in Balbriggan

NEXT MONDAY sees a special event for Balbriggan's unemployed when a Jobseekers Information Day is held at the Bracken Court Hotel.

Brendan Ryan, Labour Party TD for Dublin North, will facilitate the event in the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan on Monday, October 15, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Deputy Ryan said: 'I am facilitating this Jobseekers Information Day in order to help address the on-going and chronic unemployment problem in the catchment area of Balbriggan. ' The event will be attended by a broad coalition of organisations to supply information regarding unemployment assistance, educational guidance, enterprise supports, CV and interview advice and internship and placement opportunities. 'Excellent local services are available for the unemployed and it is essential that local representatives show leadership in connecting people with the agencies that can assist in getting people back into the workforce.' The Labour TD said: 'I meet people week in and week out who do not know about the supports on their doorstop. It is important to bring these local resources together with local jobseekers.' ' This Jobseekers Information Day is a proactive measure to try and address the problem of unemployment which has blighted the constituency of Dublin North. ' This is the first information day I have facilitated and I hope to bring another information day to Swords in the next few weeks. Balbriggan has approximately 5,000 people on the live register. It is vital these people are made aware of the local services and supports at their disposal.' He added: ' The Jobseekers Information Day will be attended by representatives of The Fingal Leader Partnership, FAS, JobBridge, National Adult Literacy Agency, Fingal Adult Education, Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed, Fumbally Exchange, Citizens Information Balbriggan and others. This event is free and all are welcome.'
