A MALAHIDE charity has benefited greatly as employees of an insurance company has raised a staggering €87,700 for it.
The Laura Brennan Charitable Trust was established in 2008 by Pat and Nuala Brennan in memory of their daughter Laura, who passed away following a sudden illness. It helps support children up to the age of 18 years who suffer from serious, life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.
Employees at Standard Life raised the €87,700 for the trust through lots of fun activities like bake sales, charity runs and cycles, adventure races, fancy dress, concerts and a very creative 'Ton of Cash' campaign.
Presenting the cheque to Pat and Nuala, Nigel Dunne, Country Head of Standard Life Ireland said 'We are delighted to have raised so much for this fantastic organisation.
'We are a business of around 250 people so to have reached over €80,000 is testament to our employees' generosity. These funds will go a long way in helping the families supported by Laura's charity.'
