Glass bottle attack case adjourned

A MAN who allegedly hit a man over the head with a glass bottle had the case against him adjourned at last week's sitting of Wexford District Court.

Michael Goggins (31), 16 Boiroinhe, Ash, Swords, Co. Dublin, was charged with assault causing harm at The Centenary Stores, Wexford on November 13 2008. Inspector Pat McDonald said on the night in question it was alleged that Goggins was involved in an altercation with the injured party. Goggins allegedly struck the injured party with a glass bottle over the head which resulted in the injured party going to Wexford District Hospital. A medical report was handed into the court. Judge Gerard Haughton accepted jurisdiction in the case. Acting for Goggins solicitor Ed King said he needed time to consider the statements which he had only recently received. Judge Haughton adjourned the case until October 15.
