FINGAL County Council's Sports Office has declared the fourth annual 3km Operation Transformation Walk at Ardgillan Castle, a huge success.

Fingal County Council Sport's Office, in conjunction with the Irish Sports Council and Balbriggan Road Runners organised the 4th annual 3km Operation Transformation walk, which took place on Saturday, January 18 in Ardgillan Demesne, Balbriggan and saw over 500 people take part despite some awful weather.

Marion Brown, Fingal's Principal Sports Officer said: 'The event at Ardgillan was a perfect opportunity for people to kick start their 'get fit' New Year resolutions with a short fun walk and to hopefully use it to start exercising on a regular basis.

'I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Balbriggan Road Runners for their help on the day and I look forward to the launch of Balbriggan's Park Run, which they expect will start in Ardgillan in the coming weeks.'
