Five charged with criminal

FIVE defendants appeared before Balbriggan District Court charged with criminal damage to a car in Lusk.

One of the men was further charged with assaulting the investigating gardaí and all the cases were adjourned.

Aymen Shebani, with an address at 32 Ardara Avenue, Donaghmede, appeared before the court charged with causing criminal damage to a car at Kelly Park, Lusk on April 28, 2002.

He was further charged with offences under the firearms and larceny acts at Greenwood Drive, Coolock on February 26, 2002.

The defendant pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to May 16 for mention and to fix a date for hearing.

Anthony McClean, 30 Tonlegee Avenue, Coolock, appeared before the court also charged in relation to the criminal damage case.

Garda McKenna told the court he arrested the defendant at 5.30am on April 28 at Hand’s Lane, Lusk.

He was brought to Balbriggan Garda Station, where he was charged at 5.12pm. An extension to his detention had been granted at 11.30am.

The defendant told the court that he worked as a car valeter. He was remanded on continuing bail to June 27.

David Fagan, 42 Seagrange Grove, was arrested at the same time and place. He was charged at Balbriggan Garda Station at 3.25pm. His reply after caution was ‘no’. Legal aid was granted and he was remanded on continuing bail to June 27.

Kenneth Boylan appeared in connection with the criminal damage, as well as being charged with assaulting Garda Mark McKenna.

The defendant, with an address at 44 Edenmore Grove, Coolock, was charged at Balbriggan Garda Station at 5.12pm. Boylan, a student, was remanded on continuing bail to June 27 for the hearing of his case.

Niall Shebani, 32 Ardara Avenue, Donaghmede, was charged at Balbriggan Garda Station at 5.20pm. His reply after caution was ‘no’.



Legal aid was granted to the defendant, who was an apprentice painter decorator and the case was adjourned to June 27 for hearing.
