AN ANONYMOUS winner of a car draw at a Swords sports club, who bought the ticket in the name of Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, has helped raise thousands of euro towards the much-needed upgrade of facilities.
The winning ticket at Fingallians GAA Club draw was bought anonymously by one of their club members in the name of the hospital, which subsequenly used the vehicle as a prize in their annual draw. Thanking Fingallians Club, Clare Martin, Direct Marketing Manager CMRF, said: ' The raffle was an incredible success and raised over €750k. We are still pushing to raise another four million to 'fix Crumlin' – we need to complete the renovation of our cancer ward and to build a new cardiac unit. Both of these projects are underway and will be complete by autumn next year.' There were several tickets bought for various charities in the Fingallians car draw but Crumlin Hospital was the lucky winner on this occasion. The Fingallians member who purchased the ticket was quoted on the night as saying: 'we only bought a ticket; we would never have won it for ourselves. Crumlin Hospital brought the luck'.
