A MAN who ' had too much to drink' and abused door staff at a Swords nightclub was fined a total of €350 at Swords District Court last week.

Zydrunas Benorius of Grove Court, Verdemont in Dublin 15 pleaded guilty to threatening and abusive behaviour and being intoxicated at The Wright Venue in Swords on June 3rd. Garda Alan Carroll gave evidence that at around 1am gardai were called to The Wright Venue and Benorius had been asked to leave by door staff. 'He became abusive to members of the public and to door staff and then to gardai,' said Garda Carroll. 'He had a lot of drink on board but calmed down after a few hours,' he added. His solicitor Ms Mairead White told the court that 26-year-old Benorius, who has two previous road traffic convictions, is apologetic and ' had too much to drink' on the night. Judge Dermot Dempsey fined Benorius €250 for threatening and abusive behaviour and €100 for being intoxicated in a public place.
