Donna Ash collects her winnings from the National Lottery’s Declan Harrington, watched by her stepfather Edward Reid, who played on her behalf, and the show’s hosts Sinead Kennedy and Marty Whelan.

A SKERRIES woman is a lot better off this week thanks to RTE's Winning Streak where she won prizes worth €44,000, including a trip to New York.

Donna Ash scooped the prizes on the show, after her stepfather, Edward Reid played the game in her name.

Donna has lived in Skerries for 28 years, after growing up in London. Her mother, who passed away seven years ago, was originally from Loughshinny.

Donna has an eight-year-old daughter, Daniella, and a pug dog called Harry and she enjoys keeping fit and taking the dog for a walk.

Edward, Donna's stepfather, is originally from Skerries and also lived in London. He is retired and was previously a window cleaner and worked for Fingal County Council and Skerries Harps.

He is a big GAA fan and his 'whole life' is wrapped up in the Dubs. He also enjoys rugby and watching the Leinster and Munster games.

Donna, who bought the scratch card in C&T Supermarkets in the Holmpatrick Shopping Centre in Skerries, was watching the show when her name was selected and was 'shocked completely'.

Edward is Donna's lucky charm and brought a picture of dog Harry onto the show for an extra bit of good luck. Donna plans to put her winnings towards her daughter's Communion in May.
