Delicious double for the Sweet Treat Co.
The SKERRIES woman who set up the Sweet Treat Company is celebrating winning two prestigious awards for her wedding services.
Clionadh Lynders Twomey from Swords launched The Sweet Treat Co., offering high-end stylised and tailored wedding candy buffet displays, after deciding to take a career change.
The company, which has gone from strength to strength, has won the Mrs2B Brides' Choice Award and is the only Irish company to win an international award in Canada for wedding supplies, collecting the Most Popular Table Candy Buffet Designer Award.
'I was working in Dunnes Stores as a senior buyer for about ten years and I decided I needed a new challenge,' Clionadh told the Fingal Independent.
'We started out quite small and once we started to do high profile weddings such as Pippa O'Connor and Brian Ormond's wedding and several international Irish soccer players' weddings, people started to hear about us,' she said.
Demand for her product grew and she is now supplying the corporate market with her goods.
She said when she got married to her husband Brian Twomey several years ago, there was nothing around like the Sweet Treat display so she brought the concept into reality, supplying the luxury style candy buffet to wedding parties.
With more and more people are starting to do their own candy buffet, Clionadh saw a niche in the market to open a second business – Moll's Parlour, to supply those who want to do their own buffet with the sweets and treats.
'I called it Moll's Parlour after my grandmother Molly Lynders who lived in Portrane,' she said.
Now Clionadh is expanding again and has started shipping goods and treats overseas due to its popularity.
Managing Director of Mrs2Be, Keith Malone, commented, 'Winning a Mrs2Be Brides' Choice Award is a huge achievement for any wedding business.
'The judges were very impressed with the overall standard of finalists. Each finalist deserves recognition for their professionalism and quality of their product or service. We sincerely congratulate all of the award winners and wish them the very best for the future.'
