A NEW action group has been formed within Malahide Chamber of Commerce to work to attract new business to the town and improve the village's infrastructure.

There was a great turnout to a meeting to discuss the founding of the new action group recently and Malahide Chamber of Commerce believes it now has a ' very positive platform to move forward on'. In the days that followed the meeting an action group was put in place and according to the chamber, the group's focus will be to look at 'all aspects of the village's infrastructure with a view to attracting in more business and to ensure that Fingal County Council development includes the needs of the town and its ratepayers'. Meanwhile, the chamber has also negotiated a special promotion for its members to sample the delights of the newly revamped Malahide Castle and Gardens project. After negotiations with the operators of the new development, Shannon Heritage, the chamber has secured 3,000 vouchers which entitle the holders to a 50% discount on a tour of the facilities. Retailers in Malahide will be able to pass the vouchers onto their customers when they make a purchase in a novel scheme that is sure to boost local business and attract new customers to Malahide Castle and Gardens at the same time.
