Cannabis operation

A 'SOPHISTICATED' cannabis 'grow house' operation was uncovered in a bedroom of a home on in Rush with plants at varying states of majority worth an estimated €4,000.

At around 3pm on December 16, gardaí acting on information they had received raided the Rush home and discovered what they described as a 'sophisticated' grow house in an upstairs bedroom. A Polish national in his mid-20s was arrested at the scene but not charged. A file on the case is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

BOGUS COLLECTORS

GARDAI have issued a warning against bogus collectors claiming to raising funds for a Christmas Party for children in the travelling community.

A mother and daughter pair have been active in Skerries recently claiming to be collecting for the party, an event that gardaí say does not exist.

The mother and daughter team recently had their taking seized by gardaí and the coins in their collection buckets came to a grand total of €50.

THIEVES HIT CARS

SEVERAL cars at two venues in Swords were targeted by thieves on December 16. Cars at the Lord Mayor's pub and at Fingallian's GAA grounds were hit in separate incidents. Thieves targeting Fingallian's also made off with several bags left by female players. Gardaí from Swords are investigating.
