THE 25th anniversary gala concert organised by Rush Musical Society will live long in the memory.
The two-night feast of music at the Millbank Theatre featured a variety of songs from the society's shows over the past 25 years was performed by members over the weekend, complemented by some lively dance numbers.
The concert took place over two nights in the Millbank theatre and the audience featured members past and present, patrons, sponsors and advertisers.
Attention will now turn to the production of the society's next event, a nine-night run of the hit musical comedy 'Curtains' next March.
'Curtains' is not just a highly entertaining musical comedy but a murder mystery to boot. It is a play within a play full of excellent one-liners, familiar tunes and lyrics and dance moves to keep audiences captivated from start to finish.
The musical was written by the talented Kander and Ebb who brought us some musical gems such as 'Cabaret' and 'Chicago'. It had a successful run on New York's Broadway, staring David Hyde Pierce, who is most known for his role in the TV series Frasier.
Multi-award winning director Tony Finnegan has been selected to ensure members new and old are kept on their toes for this lively musical comedy.
Tony is delighted to work alongside two of musical societies most experienced professionals, Mary McDonagh (choreography) and Sarah Lynch Barrett (musical director) to complete this strong production team.
