CONGRATULATIONS TO Molly Murray who was 102 years young at the weekend.
The Lusk native was joined by three of her children, Eleanor, Marie and Stephen, her grandchildren and great grandchildren for the celebrations at Lusk Community Unit, where she receives great care and attention. Born on October 14, 1910, she was one of ten children born to Stephen and Margaret Magee of The Commons, Lusk.
She moved to Corballis in Donabate after marrying the late Jack Murray and they went on to have eight children, four boys and four girls. Her daughter Eleanor said that her mother is as fit as a fiddle and throughly enjoying life. 'She sings and has lot of banter with the staff. Lusk Community Unit is a fabulous place.
It is the best place in the country -- the care and attention is second to none.' Mayor of Fingal Cllr Cian O'Callaghan dropped down to present Molly with her commemorative medal on behalf of President Michael D Higgins, although Molly, showing her quick wit, wanted to know where the cheque was, similar to the one she received for marking her 100th birthday. Senator Darragh O'Brien also paid a visit.
