WELL DONE to everyone who came out to support the charity 'Wild West Night' held at the Ring Commons Sports Centre in aid of a Balbriggan woman's work to help a struggling Chinese orphanage.
Sharon Hutchinson was behind the fundraiser which raised cash for the orphanage in China and a charity close to her heart, Zest4Kidz. The Balbriggan woman is bound for the adventure of a lifetime and is raising funds for a Chinese orphanage before she travels to the country to live with Shaolin Monks for a year. Later this year, the adventure begins for Sharon Hutchinson who plans to spend a year among the monks and pursue a lifelong interest in the martial arts.
But while she is there she will also be helping out a local cause. The monastery where she will live has an orphanage attached to it that is badly in need of funds. Already Sharon works with the charity Zest4Kidz and has travelled to Belarus a number of times to work with child prisoners and to Uganda where she worked with child soldiers. Everyone who came out for the Wild West fundraiser on the night enjoyed live music, a barbecue, special surprise guest and lots of spot prizes and the event proved a huge success and puts Sharon well on her way to helping children in China.
