THE COUNCIL says extensive work is required to re-let a number of vacant properties in St Cronan's Estate.

Cllr Darragh Butler (FF) has asked that these properties be brought up to standard and preference be given to St Cronan's families when they are being allocated to new tenants. The council updated the councillor on work to restore three vacant properties to the market, saying: ' There are three void dwellings in St. Cronan's Estate, which are at various stages of pre-let repairs. 'Pre-let repairs are ongoing in one dwelling with a target completion date in December. Extensive refurbishment and construction works are required to a further dwelling to accommodate a special needs applicant. ' This will necessitate the construction of an additional bedroom. Tenders have now been received for this project. The remaining dwelling is currently with the County Architect for preparation of pre-let repairs schedules. ' The council is in the process of identifying suitable applicants for these properties, which will be allocated in accordance with the council's Allocations Scheme.'
