THE LONG-awaited taking in charge of Torcaill estate in Portmarnock by Fingal County Council could happen soon if the developer on the estate carries out a number of tasks that the local authority wants to have done before it takes over.
Answering a request for an update on the issue from Cllr Peter Coyle (Lab), the council said: 'There are some areas of open space that require reseeding and stone removal. The developer has been instructed to carry out these works immediately. Upon completion of these works, the site will be inspected and the open space will be considered to be taken in charge provided that there are no major outstanding infrastructural issues relating to the open space.'
