THE bad weather claimed another victim in Skerries last week when the popular annual threshing display at Skerries Mills had to be called off.
Towards the end of August each year, the corn crop at the mills is harvested in the traditional manner using horse and steam power. The traditional threshing display always draws a big crowd and proves popular with locals and the the farming community around Skerries.
But the bad weather got in the way again, forcing the cancellation of the event, much to the disappointment of the good people at Skerries Mills and all those who were looking forward to attending. There is no news at this point on whether the event which was to be staged on Sunday, September 2nd, will be rescheduled.
