Registration is from 10am and the race is due to start at 11am. This year, the organisers have special additional categories including prizes for teams made up of three generations of the same family. There's a special 'Golden Cone' award too and anyone can be the recipient for doing something memorable on the day. There are also spot prizes on offer throughout the event and prizes for the best fancy dress. All money raised at the event goes to Senior Helpline - the national phone help line for older people provided by trained older volunteers. Callers really value talking to someone their own age and over ten thousand older people phoned the service last year. 'As a nation we are not uncaring yet older members of the community can be left alone and isolated in their own homes. Today Senior Helpline needs your help more than ever. LoCall 1850 440 444.' Please join Dr Eva Orsmond from Operation Transformation to run, jog or walk for Senior Help Line. Every €10 raised allows a volunteer to spend 20 minutes with another older person who just needs someone to talk to and to listen.
