SKERRIES Community College has congratulated all of its Leaving Certificate students on their excellent results in this year's exams.
Principal of the school, Kevin O'Riordan told the Fingal Independent: 'All the students should be proud of their achievements and should look to the future with confidence. ' The results really reflect the hard work they have put into their studies over the past two years.' In line with national trends, the school principal said there was an increase in the number of students in Skerries presenting for higher level Maths this year.
The extra 25 bonus points for all those achieving a grade D3 or higher in higher Maths made an impact on overall results at the school. The school was also interested to see the changes to Irish results that the increased emphasis on the oral exam had at the school. Mr. O'Riordan paid tribute to the staff at the community college as well as the parents and families who have supported and encouraged the students over the last two years. He stressed that the Leaving Certificate results will present many opportunities in higher education and further training for students leaving the school this year. ' These opportunities will equip the young people with the skills and knowledge to fulfil their potential and contribute to the future growth of the economy,' Mr. O'Riordan said.
