THEY have been busy down at Rush Nursing Home recently with a variety of events that kept residents and staff alike hugely entertained.

A string quartet recently dropped in to the nursing home to entertain residents in the shape of Cadenza who performed for free but asked that a donation go from the home to a favourite charity of theirs. Rush Nursing Home's activities department subsequently honoured that request and made a donation towards the Parkinson Association of Ireland. Arthur's Day was celebrated at the home too when the great Arthur Guinness was honoured with a pint or two of the black stuff and DJ Kevin dropped in to provide some musical entertainment for the residents. Rush Nursing Home is now in the middle of a fundraising drive for Action Breast Cancer with a fortnight of events. They have been collecting clothing donations and on October 12, the residents and staff of the home will be in the pink as they all dress up for a 'pink day' at Rush Nursing Home.
