FOUR WEEKS of determined fundraising has managed to net Skerries RNLI over €7,500 to aid their vital and often life-saving work off the Skerries coastline.

The legendary return of the raft race, a flag day and a fun run are just some of the ways the local community have come together in recent weeks to try to boost the lifeboat's coffers. Skerries RNLI said: 'As a charity, we need people to raise money to keep us afloat and that's why we're so lucky in Skerries RNLI to have great, enthusiastic, friendly, good humoured fundraisers. In the last four weeks they've raised €7,566.11. Well done to an amazing team. This money will be put to use training our volunteer crew, maintaining the lifeboat and purchasing new equipment and life-jackets for all crew. Without your help and commitment, donations and support, we would have trouble just being. Thank you.'
